The Master’s student Carolina Vala had a poster of her work developed in synergy with Allmicroalgae under the theme “Desenvolvimento de barritas vegan com incorporação de microalgas Chlorella vulgaris heterotróficas” (“Development of vegan bars with the incorporation of heterotrophic Chlorella vulgaris microalgae”), at the V Encontro de Química dos Alimentos (V National Meeting on Food Chemistry), in Madeira, from 5-8 of September.
Currently completing her master’s in Food Engineering at the School of Agriculture University of Lisbon (ISA), she was demonstrating the applicability of Chlorella vulgaris, with distinct organoleptic profiles, as a food ingredient for the development of nutritional bars based on fruits, gluten-free cereals and oilseeds.
